A bit overwhelmed, no?

Thank you to everyone who sent me suggestions! You are all an amazing help. I had never even heard of some of the places or events and, upon googling them, became quite excited. And overwhelmed.

Apparently the restauranteurs, cultural elite, and bar wenches do quite a bit of planning to appease the 8 million plus inhabitants that emerge, eyes wincing from direct sunlight, out of the overpriced closets we lovingly call home when temperatures begin to hover around 75 degrees.

But it is better to be overwhelmed than underwhelmed I would imagine. Bearing that in mind, I literally included every item that struck my fancy that was sent to me. I also consulted a "bucket list" I made when I first arrived to the island and last year's Vanity Fair Summer Guide. I must admit I was surprised at how much I had actually done in the past two years. Which approaches almost 1% of what I read today.

If I survive this summer unmaimed, without an alcohol dependency problem, or 5 extra pounds on my thighs I will be fist pumping a la The Situation while running in small circles in my studio apartment. Seriously.

Drum roll please.... The bucket list is complete! And so is my first blog post! It only took me 45 minutes to write a few paragraphs. And it still seems too wordy. Please comment if any of you actually read this. It will make me feel loved and, more importantly, important. (Pause for laughter)

The 95 days of summer officially begins on June 20th. Until then, I will be posting dates, pictures, and information about items on the bucket list. Check back if any of the items are of interest to you. I know you all get bored at work and facebook is blocked. In any case, I am clearly more awesome than google. I can also buy you drinks which, as far as I am aware, the mighty internet has not yet mastered.

  3. So are you planning on adding anything to this? You should get started. This list is a lot to accomplish and it should be 85 degrees this weekend!
